How a Dark Dining Table Makes Customers Order More Food

How does darkness or lightness of café tables effect diners? Research by Brian Wansink from Cornell University indicates that customers ordered more food when they sit at a dark table.. and heavier foods! 🍰 ☕️

If your café offers indulging, heavier menu than it may be worth considering using darker tables in your eatery.

A lighter whiter colour scheme with an open floor layout may make customers feel visible, more self aware, know that others are watching. Ahh! So there is a good chance they will eat more lighter and order less. Also the darker seating may have the opposite effects. Those in the booths may order up compared to those dining near the window. According to Wansink's research the customers sitting near a window or entrance are more aware of themselves and in result of that are 80% more likely to order salads.
